| I show up at work, 8:00 am, just like normal. Dr. Barfield tells my co-worker Cristin and I about a concert tonight at the stillwater community center put on by the Purdue Glee Club. I asked him to find out what time, because it sounded like fun. He went to find out, came back, and told us that, because it was the Engineering Dean's birthday, the Glee Club is actually in the building and is going to sing him happy birthday.
So Cristin decide to slip in the back of this large open room in the ATRC, and are surrounded by 50 college guys from Purdue. (I did not know that glee club is only guys.) The dean walks in, they sing him at least 2 songs, and they were UNBELIEVABLY GOOD. And, strangely enough, none of these guys are music majors (that's why it's not the choir or something...)
I had been talking with the director of the glee club before the dean walked in... and the next thing I know i hear.... "L...is for the way you look, at me..." No problem, one guy singing a solo... but wait... he's walking toward me... grabs my hand, and now i'm in the middle of the room.... I start turning red as I hear, (announced to everyone)
"Hey, she's a business major.... and he's a health promotions... it could work" as I sort of half chuckle and try to show him my engagement ring.
...a chair magically appears behind me, and as I sit down, I'm SURROUNDED by even more of these guys, looking at me and singing. ((that's when the cameraman FELL behind me as he was trying to zoom in on my face... the chair rocked and everything... the guys are trying not laugh, I'm trying not to turn red, and my hands are being held by about 5 different guys!!!)) oh it was funny..... as they finish, they all act like they all "air kiss" my cheek....
Quite a start to a Monday morning... I thought I was gonna hear happy birthday, but instead heard 40 minutes worth of pretty woman, L-O-V-E, Oklahoma, etc. Good times! GO GLEE CLUB!!!!!! |
